Students complete classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, online coursework, and a supervised clinical internship. 

Overview

Medical Assistant Pathway provides comprehensive training in both the clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare. Students gain real-world experience while learning from experienced healthcare professionals who bring years of industry expertise into the classroom.

Throughout the program, students will develop skills in:

  • Patient care and clinical procedures 
  • Measuring and recording vital signs 
  • Infection control and OSHA safety standards 
  • Anatomy & Physiology 
  • Medical Terminology 
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) 
  • Medical front office procedures 
  • Medical law and ethics 
  • Appointment scheduling and patient communication 
  • Medical documentation 
  • Clinical laboratory procedures 
  • Professional workplace skills 
  • Preparation for national certification 

Students practice their skills in a simulated clinical laboratory before completing a supervised internship, allowing them to confidently transition into the healthcare workforce.

$2,200
Tuition Flex Option:
$550 per month for the first four months

Refund Policy

Please review our refund policy before enrolling.

  • 100% refund if you withdraw before the first class meeting. 
  • 75% refund (excluding books and materials)
    • In class sessions: you must withdraw within the first four class sessions. 
    • Blended online or online class: you must withdraw by the end of the second week
  • No refunds after the fourth class session.

Prerequisites

To enroll in a Medical Career Pathway, students must:

  • Attend a Medical Program Orientation 
  • Successfully enroll in Healthcare Essentials as the first course in the pathway. 
  • Provide proof of high school completion (High School Diploma or High School Equivalency). 
  • Provide a valid Social Security Card and matching government-issued photo ID.

Healthcare Essentials

$60 (Book included in class fee)

This introductory course is a prerequisite for most of the medical programs at Vista Adult School, including Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Insurance Billing Certificated Programs, and Medical Front Office. The course consists of modules in medical terminology, computer literacy, health and safety, body structures and function, medical math, ethical and legal responsibilities, and success strategies.
